Gary was born and raised in Kamloops, B.C. and married his High School sweetheart, Helen, in 1972. They have called Salmon Arm home since 1986. Gary and Helen have 2 grown sons, Jeremy and Matt. Their older son, Jeremy, joined Shirley Real Estate Ltd. in 2007.

Gary has had various careers throughout his working Life, including Carpentry, Teaching, and Life Insurance. He obtained his Real Estate Licence in 2000 and has been with Shirley Real Estate Ltd. since that time.

Gary is a member of the Salmon Arm Golf Club. He and Helen enjoy travelling and spending time camping at the local campgrounds.
